The indirect benefit of this amount of CO2 saved is 124 million euros, calculated as defined by Directive 2009/33 of the European Parliament.
A significant fact is also that relating to landfills, real scars on the territory. The Green Economy Report estimates the number avoided. Between 1998 and 2019, the CONAI system ensured the recycling of almost 32 million tons of packaging: it means that in twenty-two years the filling of 160 new medium-sized landfills has been avoided.
